I have been trying to replace the sight on my SKS ever since it launched itsself into space at Bulletfest. I have tried endlessly to replace the spring, (its a K-Var AK spring) but every time I get it pushed down far enough to get the new sight in, it pops out. There seems to be a 5-6mm nick in the base where the spring in held, this could have an effect, but it still seems like there is enough space in the slot underneith for the spring to stay in. I have tried to file down the spring to get it to go in further with no effect. I have had people help while doing this, so an extra set of hands is not the problem. Any ideas? |
