"Ok I have two questions. My first being, around what temperature dose the barrel and gastube of an SAR-1 get during rapid firing." given enough mags, you can get your bbl. glowing red and cause wooden handguards to burst into flames! figure somewhere in the 300+°f as a minimum, and well above 450°f if you start seeing red. at these temperatures, throat and bore erosion occur quickly and the metallurgy of the bbl. steel can be altered. rates of fire are calculated on the temperatures achieved during long bursts. foe example, a .50 bmg m2 can effectively fire a sustained 150 round burst, but will need an approx. 10 minute cooling period to prevent damage or loss of accuracy. exceeding the recommended rates of fire will not only generate elevated operating tempuratures, but will lead to excessive wear, loss of accuracy thru bbl. exspansion, bullet tumbling, bbl. geometry changes and in some firearms, seizure of the hot components. Next is the Schmeiser Stick Kit on this page legal, the site is www.gungarage.com/ak_accessories.htmThanks. as long as the rifle remains at least 26" long and is capable of being shoulder fired, it is legal. i've never seen the rationale behind these things, but they are legal. |
