MINE HAS TO BE THE MILLED BULGGY AM I THE ONLY FAN OUT HERE?? THE SA-93 AND THE SLR-95 ARE MY TWO FAVORITES I'VE OWNED THEM ALL AND I ALWAYS CAME BACK TO THE MILLED. JUST BETTER MADE GUNS THAN THE REST IN MY OPINION....

Favorite AK?

That would have to be my Informer built custom.

After that I'd have to say that a Zastava (Yugo) was my favorite with the preban Kassnar Hungarian SA-85 in an almost dead heat with the Yugo.

After that? Valmets of course.

Chi-com rifles? Sorry, I didn't like them when they were $250, I like them even less now.

Of the post bans, you can't beat the SAR rifles.

The Bulgarian SA93's and 95s are much nicer than the SARS but they are heavier and pricier.

In the end, they are all just AKs with not a lot of difference between them as far as function and accuracy. Just fit and finish and availability.

I don't care what kind of AK I have in my hands.
I just want to shoot it,they are all great! I like folders and National Match Polytech's.

I love my SAR-2 Campy-clones, but since you asked about AK47's, I would have to say my Bulgarian SA-93.  I reconfigured it back to "preban" configuration, added a second stock tang, and  like it even more.
I still like my SAR-1 and MAK - 90, but the Bulgie is the best.

I prefer the milled Bulgarian "style" SA-M7. I say Bulgarian "style" because the receiver and about 80% of the parts are actually made in the USA.

My favorite?  My SAR1.

At $279... it goes BANG every time.  Looks just as evil.  And I spent a lot less.

I second the SAR-1.... the poor man's AK.

I like my SAM-7 alot. Great looks. It shoots better than my Chinese rifles.

I could kick myself for not buying the underfolders before "pre-ban" was even a word.

I picked up an SAR-2. I've only fired it once, I wasn't really that impressed. It could use a little help.

Man thats a tough question,of the AKs I have now listed in order of favor;Bulgy AK74,SSR99P,SLR100 and last my Maadi ARM.Its a tough question because there's not much of a margin between my favorite and least favorite. And my favorite AK of all was the Valmet M62 I lost in a divorce sale back in 89.

My favorites are the two Ive got

I love the accuracy and smoothness of the Galil.  Milled recievers do rule on that count, they are just heavy. My new Krebs AK103K has more evil points.  Now that Im bitten by the AK bug, Im going to have to get an SAR1 and some sort of AK74.

At first it was my CLAYCO but then some devil started spewing about this "poison bullet" no-recoil wonder AK
campyclone so I had to get one. Only problem was its 5-7" 100yd accuracy (SAR2) left me wanting. It also would jam (shocker) on occaision so it had to go.

Then came the SAR3 which has been spectacular. Excellent accuracy (sub 3moa iron or dot), less recoil than SAR2 and never a malf. Even runs with bulgie mags.

Now my current favorite is the one in my lap as I type this and celebrate it's arrival with numerous properly chilled Labatt's Blues. A Poly Tech folder (see other thread). Haven't shot it yet so I can't say exactly how much I love it but it will be quite a few nights before it goes unfondled.

I would say the last one I bought (no matter when) is my favorite.

The one I'm with. SAR 1. She's resting now, just leaning against the wall.
Yesterday she helped me remind a 12" steel plate that 312 yards is still my space.
 I can love no other.

My favorite AK? Well, since I can't import a Sako M95, it'll have to be the one I have now:

Man I hate head colds. It's been driving me nuts the entire week.

I would have to say the 84s-1

I would say my Hungarian AKM, milled FEG receiver. 100% milspec except for the filed down disconnector part prohibiting it from rocking and rolling.

Shot Norinco's, didn't like them much. But generally the look and feel is great on them, especially the ruskie AK I shot once.

themao: ...Well, since I can't import a Sako M95...

My favorites are also Valmet and Sako variants. The best must be the Sako M92 and luckily I got one :)

Note: the M92 is the civillian version (ie. semi auto) of the full auto RK95.

Regards,

Toni
