Was just reading the post about the rough bolt movement in another SAR1.Mine is rough also and will lock in the rear most position when charging the bolt.Soon as a loaded mag is inserted itll slam home or I can hit the Bolt Handle with my palm and itll slam home.It doesnt bother me to much.I kinda figured it would fix itself as I break the rifle in.Should I worry abou it or just keep shootin it?Im more worried about fixin the crooked front post.Reallly bothers me to look into the Cobra and see how far out the front post is.Thanks for the info on how to fix that one.Im waitin till tommorro so I can get to a machine supply company to get the stuff to fix it.Thanks for the help,45B10

I can feel your pain. I've noticed my SAR will hang sometimes when charging it. I can tap the buttstock and the bolt will close. I also thought that I had a straight front sight UNTIL I installed a Kobra and looked through it. My post leans a little to the left.

a carefull stoning of all the mating/sliding surfaces of the bolt/carrier/hammer will slick things up.

but here's a trick you should try: run the carrier/hammer cocking surface lubed up with moly grease.

guaranteed to help break that action in smoother than oil.

in a worst case scenario, using a lapping compound and hand cycling the action a few hundred times will also loosen things up.
