I want to remove the entire AK front sight assembly. I see the two pins that appear to be holding it on but I was not sure exactly how I should drift them out. How do I do it? Is it just a matter of removing these pins? Any help would be great. Thanks.

drive the two 3mm pins out FROM the left side of the rifle.

use a steeply tapered nail set to start the pins moving.

use a 3/32" drift punch to continue driving the pins out.

back up the sight base with a solid chunk of steel and make sure the rifle is not bouncing when you strike your hammer blows.

due to drilling burrs left from the factory pin installation process, a hydraulic or arbor press may be necessary to press the sight base off the barrel.
