I'm picking one up as part of a trade in BNIB condition and trying to decide whether to keep or sell / trade it.
I've seen several good initial reviews but I'm interested in hearing how they've been holding up for people that have had one a few years and put a decent amount of rounds down range with it. |

The C39v2 has been out just over a year, so short of a range giving an opinion based on high volume you won't get a "hard use results" report. What I can say is mine are very, very accurate, even with the crappiest Russian ammo. The workmanship is excellent, fit and finish is probably the best I have ever seen in an AK type rifle. The one drawback that anyone has mentioned is the bolt carrier is cast and not forged, and some owners have experienced excessive wear on it in a short amount of time. I have not seen that on mine, but let's say you do. You can replace the bolt carrier and bolt with quality Bulgarian or Polish parts. For the money, this is an excellent value. Here is a pic of mine one time when I dressed it up for Halloween. http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n634/monadhclann/Mobile%20Uploads/image_zps6y2bz4lg.jpeg I'll have to agree with this guy. I'm newer to AKs, and wanted to pick up a V2 from the start. I got in at the right time and was able to score mine for 610 bucks shipped. I have about 3k through it now, and it's been absolutely flawless. I put an SRVV jet brake on it, which is pretty excessive, but it shoots nearly as soft as my ARs now. I would love to change out the Carrier...as that is the only part I've heard complaints about. Don't really know enough about the platform to spend the money on a new BCG, though. |

What is the serial number? I had soft metal problems with 2 guns(RAS & V2) in the 5000 range. Both were replaced by Century. I have not had a chance to shoot them yet. If you put 500 rounds through them with normal wear signs, you are probably GTG. I agree and probably even sooner. I've seen a carrier that was obviously soft at 60 rounds, |
| Just read some reports of soft metal / cast bolt carriers and bolt. I haven't seen any other issues...so if I decide to keep it, can I simply replace it with a quality bolt carrier / bolt and keep the original as a spare? Will any AK47 bolt carrier/ bolt drop right in? Sorry for my ignorance but I'm not very familiar with AKs. |
