Ok, tried to install the ALG trigger in my DDI AK and it is a no go. When I cycle the bolt, the hammer gets caught on the Disconnector which then prevents the trigger from resetting!! What am I doing wrong?

You have the spring in the disconnector right?

Disconnector.

I hate when people can't type out a complete word.

I just installed the AKT on my new DDI stamped and am having the same problem. Trigger fits and fires, but it will not reset if I hold the trigger while cycling the bolt. Has anyone seen a solution, or is this another mark against DDI? (And yes, I also have mag figment issues that I will be taking up with DDI)

Is the set screw too deep not allowing the trigger/disconnector to pivot back far enough to release the hammer?

Set screw?  Is that something new ALG added?  Mine doesn't have anything like that.  The disconnector in the OPs pic has a hole in it that mine lacks, is that the set screw?

Whoops, meant roll pin, not a set screw as I said above.   They have poll pin than may or may not need to be used to make the safety work.  Could the roll pin be installed too deep and coming out the back side hitting the receiver not allowing the trigger/disconnector to pivot back far enough to release the hammer?

Nah, the hole for the roll pin on mine didn't go all the way through.  Well it did, but the hole at the bottom was smaller than the diameter of the roll pin so you couldn't push it through.

I had the same issue trying to install the AKT on my DDI. I sent the trigger into ALG and they said it was functioning as designed, and that there was nothing wrong with the trigger. They did however, send it back to me with their high energy main spring and an auxiliary spring that is now included with all new AKT triggers shipped out. The trigger works great now

If  you can't push the disconnector back to release the hammer more than shown in your pic, I'd say the disconnector hook is too long. Use a file or some sandpaper and carefully shorten it so the hammer will release. And get some oil on that rust I see in that pic.

Thank you guys, it sure was the rivet sticking up just enough to stop the disconnector from moving freely! You guys rock, that's why I love this place!

Just took a closer look and that ^^ appears to be the problem. The ALG disconnector has a tail that gets blocked by the rivet, which inhibits the reset. Will have to get DDI to flatten the rivet when I send the rifle back for the magwell issues. Not sure why the ALG has that long tail on the disconnector-- the G2 doesn't have one.

Upon further inspection, it is not the trigger guard rivet that inhibits the disconnect from resetting.  There is simply not enough room for the reset -- perhaps the guide holes for the trigger pin are a tad low in the receiver.

I contacted customer service at DDI and ALG.  Both responded that they will not address the problem.  ALG suggested taking it to a gun smith.  Not exactly what I was expecting, so fair warning to any other DDI purchasers who want to use the "drop-in" AKT trigger -- you will need to venture into trigger fitting or hire a smith.  I'm going back to the G2.

Anyone want to buy an unused ALG AKT trigger?  ALG won't take returns once you have installed the trigger (which is what one has to do to find out that it does not work in one's particular firearm).
