While i only have ~100 rounds through my OPAP, i have a feeling it will start to mushroom. What are you supposed to do to the trigger, do you sand it down? I want to get a smooth sloped spiral, but right now its like a "triangle". Mind you, i cocked the rifle about 200 times and dry fired+had 100 rounds through it. No hiccups.
do you use a file or sandpaper, i never filed/grinded down a trigger before so uhh..this padawan needs to learn |

I have a Tapco G2 in a kit built AK and after 500+ rounds it hasn't mushroomed.
Don't file it or grind it, you'll grind off the hardened metal and then it will mushroom or have other problems. If you want a slick trigger, ALG Defense has put out an AK trigger with a shorter, lighter pull and reset. |

The G2 FCG is, from the sound of the issues, way too hard. Most imported FCGs are noticeably soft and will sacrifice themselves to form around the bolt/carrier profile - not the other way around. |

Why do you have a "feeling" it's going to mushroom? If nothing's happening you should be fine, if it starts I'd just get another FCG as that's probably a sign the metal is too soft. I think he's afraid of the bolt-tail mushrooming because of the over-hardened hammer and G2 profile, not of the hammer deforming. FCGs are easily replaceable; matching bolts, not so much. |
