Is it normal for the SLR 106 to throw empty cases to the moon? Man it throws the brass just wondering.

Yes. My 5.45 guns do the same. I bought an extra power recoil spring from Wolff to see how it well it works. Low earth orbit is unnecessary.

Yes, shooting off of the hood of your truck is not advisable. Your windshield may not survive. Otherwise the rest go into orbit.

The Wolf XP spring will tame the ejection of hotter 223/5.56, but you may get some short stroking if you use it with Wolf/Tulammo or other loads on the weaker side. I have an XP spring on a spare recoil rod, I will usually put it in if I'm going to be shooting a lot of hot stuff. It will also reduce most of the case denting.

Most 5.56 AKs seem to be overgassed, though some of the early 106 models were undergassed a bit - one of the adjustments that was made over time.

I've never heard of a 5.56 AK wearing out the ejector, and they're not damaging the carrier or rear trunnion. If that's what you're worried about I wouldn't sweat it
