The safety on my yugo m70 sometime goes up over the dust cover when I charge the weapon and I forget I have
The safety on? It pisses me off because the weapon should not be able to chamber a round the safety should Block the charging handle? Will replacing the safety cure this? Whats wrong with my rifle?

Post some pictures.
It sounds like the top cover is out of spec, not the safety lever. Maybe both, but the top cover should certainly prevent this. The Yugo top covers are not shaped like the Soviet pattern guns, IIRC. The edge that interfaces with the safety lever is straight, whereas on Soviet pattern guns it's bent and formed to retain the safety lever. |
