My LGS just got one of these in and it is very nice. The finish is very smooth and even, straight sights, and the furniture looks very nice. Does anyone have any experience with this rifle? I know it is new for 2015. Thanks.

I'm also interested in hearing some feedback since I'm considering a C39v2 as well.  It looks like Century has addressed most of the complaints with the original model.  I like the milled receiver, Green Mountain barrel, Wolff springs, and nitride treatment.  I've haven't seen any negative reviews / comments other than the lack of a cleaning rod and bayonet lug (which is not an issue since my ridiculous state law doesn't allow bayonets).

There have been some issues with the new Century US made AKs.  Canted sights, blotchy finish, and poor rivet work are what I remember.  There is a link about it in the thread for the C39 RPK a page or two back.

Also, it doesn't seem like prices have settled on these.  Started out at 800, now they are 700 after only being on the market a bit.  I'd wait and see if they drop a bit more.

Those two rifles with problems were the stamped receiver rifle.

True, but the issues aren't specific to a milled receiver build.  If they can't do a nice finish on the stamped rifles, no reason to expect them to be able to on the milled ones.  Same with canted sights.

That thread is a bit concerning but I've also seen / read about QC issues with many reputable manufacturers.  I try to do a lot of research before making any purchase and I've yet to see a negative review specific to the C39v2.  For some reason it just seems there are a lot of people that are anxious to pile on whenever there's an issue with a Century rifle.

I've not seem anything bad yet about the C39.
RAS47 was a swing and a miss,  but the milled guns seem solid.

Thanks, yours was one of the reviews that got me really interested in the C39v2. I'm not a fan of Century's marketing / paid spokesman type "reviews"...although their 1,000 round "torture test" was a pretty good start.  Yours was well done / informative.  Are you still testing it?  I'd like to see some longer term /  high round count feedback as well.

The c39's that i have seen and the ones I have fired have all been top notch.

I wish they would have kept the cleaning rod on the gas block and made the gas block look more AK-47-ish.

I'm guessing the milled rifle is built buy a subcontractor. Probably the same one that manufactures the milled receiver. Century has done this in past.

I got to handle one of the V1's at the range, seemed very nice, good looking furniture too (except that horrid PG) . V2's look interesting, but priced too high for me anyway for what they are. $499.00 and i'm going to be looking hard at one.
