my dealer has this polytech aks-223 underfolder available. are these the .223 rifles that only accept the $100 mags?

At least $100.00 mags.
You can dick around and possibly have success modifying other mags to work, but at the end of the day, the only mags that are a sure thing are the Polytech originals.
