Yes. There was a thread years ago on another forum. Back when the surplus was pouring in, quite a few folks made various attempts at passing off unique colors.

That was Nachtjager using Tamiya paint. It came out pretty authentic looking. Reminds me of Finslayer83 and Gtate here with the sucessful RIT dyed FDE-to-plum projects.

Google Green Bakelite mag!!!! and his original pic comes right up on the first page next to a stock set that he did as well. Looked pretty good.

Does anybody remember what the green usage was for? I vaguely remember it being border or maritime guards??

According to that other thread, they were presented to members of the border guards.
