Not in the lifetime of your average rifle if they are made of the proper materials and designed properly.  the short answer would be "no, they won't wera out"

BTW, it is not a stupid question at all, it is actually a really good question that no one usually asks.

The gas can erode the finish on most muzzle devices given enough rounds, any may carbonize or erode the faces it is blasting off of, but it rarely if ever would cause a failure of the material.

Thanks. I like your products by the way.

Do anyone know if the AK-74 brake that comes with the SLR's that are chrome lined have any markings like the ones that came with the SGL's?

These are the markings on my SGL-21.

Probably the only thing I would worry about is having rust & crud form on the inside if you have a 5.45 and shoot a lot of 7n6 without cleaning.

Other than that, a good scrubbing every once in a while can't hurt.

I also have a muzzle brake question...

The slant brake looks very simple. Are there differences between different manufacturers?

Is the Tapco slant brake as good as anything else out there? it looks like it would be hard to mess it up.

Geez. No one owns a SLR-107 that can answer my question

I think the US made arsenal AK74 brakes in 7.62 are not chrome lined.

The muzzle brake on my  2008  SLR 107FR is unmarked (nothing at all).   It does not look chrome lined to me though (but I am no expert).  Still the best AK I have ever had...

Also have a spare KVAR 7.62 brake for a 107 that is not marked either.  Had another 107F that the brake was like the one in your picture.  I guess it depends on what is on hand at the time of assembly.

You asked two questions:  1 - They do not wear out.  2 -  Chrome lined brakes will not have the Arsenal markings on it.
