| I could use some mag spring dimensions fellas. I'm converting several AI mags to feed 6 mm br in my comp rifle. I made two that work flawlessly using modified magpul ar followers and an ak 223 magspring. The 223 spring came from a kvar 30 rd mag, i cut the spring in half and got two AI mags assembled. I contacted kvar/arsenal about mag springs, out of stock, no idea when they would have them. Got the impression it would be months not weeks if ever. The 223 spring is .450" wide and 1.910" front to back. I pulled a couple ak74 mags apart and they are 1.950, that is too long and won't fit inbetween the ar anti tilt legs. I do not have or know anyone locally that has a 7.62 ak to check spring dimensions, contacted wolf about spring dimensions and was told they don't have time to do spring searches, don't believe i will buy wolf springs ever. I know i can buy a new 30 rd kvar 223 mag, but 38 bucks just to get the spring is tough. Thanks for any assistance, even buying a tapco mag would be ok since they aren't too pricey. |
