How critical is the wiggle between the gas piston and bolt carrier in a Bulgarian SLR-195.  Thanks in advanced.

Probably not critical no matter the rifle so long as it functions. If it doesn't have any wobble but it works then I wouldn't mess with it.

AK's need a little wiggle. It's normal and a good thing.

The wiggle is there to account for any cant in the gas block. If the block is heads up you probanly don't need the wiggle. Since canting is pretty common on AKs the wiggle is incorporated in to the design specs for reliability. If your rifle runs fine I wouldn't worry about it.
