Does anyone here have any experience with the Russian red dot scopes?  I've been looking at a PK01A. It's the one they call the Venezuelan. The seller's website has lots of glowing recommendations, but it is their website. It mounts on center of barrel axis, low, above the receiver cover and co-witnesses with the iron sights. For that matter, how about any of the Kalashnikov scope set ups? I can't do the chin weld (or worse), trying to look through a scope that sits way too high.

This is the best resource for AK type optics: http://russianoptics.net/

I have one and consider it one of the best Russian / Belarussian RDSs for an AK.

Jaw weld is typically required to use most traditional Russian optics, and isn't nearly as bad as the chin weld required to use some optics.
I thoroughly enjoy the Rakurs collimator sight on my AKs, and although it requires a "jaw weld", its not so high that you can't see the front sight through it.

Sounds like the special run PK-A.   I have heard from 3 users that they're great, but heavy.
