I rounded out my collection and added a stack of AK's while I could get them.  I want to change out the muzzle devices on all of them as they are all different and not to my liking (the guy I bought 3 from addded weird spikey midevil looking things).  I might save the one AK-74 long barrel looking comp and put it on one of the side folders as it add 2" to the underfolder it's on.  What short muzzle device works the best?  I like the looks of the slant cut one, but not sure it does anything but protect the threads. I've been thinking the mini AR birdcage or 4 prong flash suppressor might work, but wanted to hear what you guys think.  I think it's stupid to have a short underfolder with a 2-4" muzzle device.

added: 3 of my AK's are in 223 and 2 in x39.

This is the one on 3 guns

Slant brakes for me.

They are designed (indexed) to help at least a little with recoil.

Try a Manticore Night Brake or a Damage Industries "Howitzer" brake, both are short and effective.

Awesome, that bottom one is the winner!!!  I did a lot of google searches and never came across it.  How much are they?  And do they make them for 5.56 and 7.62?

its $25 and it fits 14x1 LH threads, its designed for .30 cal, but it will work with 5.56, they make an AR version as well.

I have one of those, looks great and hard to beat as it's under 10 bucks from Northern Gun parts.

Also have the Damage brake, great little piece too.

Thank you...  I like some of the CNC ones also and apparently they make the weird brake I have on my guns now.  They'll be up on the EE soon..
