Which is better, a single hook or a double hook trigger?

Double hook trigger is supposed to be better. The trigger has more contact area with the hammer and that makes it better in some way. Not all receivers are cut for a double hook trigger, though. Look for one or two small notches at the front corners of the trigger opening.

depends on what your criteria is for better.

A double hook will be more robust and possibly more reliable in case of a break.

A single hook has a crisper cleaner pull (IMO) than the double hook.

I use both in various rifles. Cannot tell the difference between them in actual usage. I use either without hesitation.

Some receivers are made for single hook, others will take either one.

Just like the use of Recoil Buffer in an AK is a never-ending debate, so is the which is better.....Single/Double hook trigger debate.
I say.....If the receiver is cut for a single hook, then use that. If its cut for a double hook, then use that. Enough said.

Unless everything is machined in perfect alignment (hammer, trigger, pin holes, etc), likely most of the double hooks are really acting like single hooks. Only one hook is contacting the hammer due to variations in FCG and the receiver.

I like a double-hook trigger in a single-hook-cut receiver.
