I don't see anything about tactical suggestions for the AK here. Most of the shooting schools close to me that teach tactical carbine courses only allow AR-15s in the classes, no AKs or even my AR-10. There have got to be platform specific tips (like reloading by using the new mag to sweep the release and the old mag). Any suggestions?

Op the only way your going to get better is by shooting your rifle. Tactical is a mindset. And that word gets thrown around way too much. Watch some YouTube videos, the ak is definitely NOT a high speed low drag weapon system. Dry fire and practicing weapon manipulations can take you pretty far. |

the ak is definitely NOT a high speed low drag weapon system. This is an incorrect statement and no disrespect intended towards you but this statement is typical of AR guys. If you learn the proper way to run an AK it's just as high speed as an AR. The problem is AR guys who try to run an AK like their AR. OP, Buy the Sonny Puzikas videos, " Beyond the Firearm Part II," and practice the AK operating skills shown until they become second nature. Or go take one of his classes. Sonny knows the AK better than anyone else, he was a Russian soldier and Spetsnaz for years. As for his training accident, it was with a handgun not an AK and there is more to the story but everyone here just likes to pile on and talk crap when they wasn't there. |

I have and would again, regardless of what happened. There's a following on this website that couldn't wait to jump on Sonny when the accident happened. They had their motivations though IMO. |

I've looked to sign up for classes by Sonny, but it looks like he's currently teaching non-firearm related classes. Hopefully, he gets back into it. |
