I have my rifle zeroed at 50 yards shooting poa, this weekend I shot a tactical carbine match with most engagements ranging from 7-25 yards and found that I was shooting consistently low, like 4-5 inches low. Is the 7.62 rainbow that pronounced? I guess if I want to continue to compete with this rilfe I need to rezero at 25 yards. Just bouncing what I saw off you guys, does this sound right for 7.62x39?

An AK zeroed at 50 should be about 1/2" low at 25. Check that zero at 50 again.

ETA: but will be lower at 7 yds.

Nope, something was off with your sights.

It may have just been me, . I repositioned my optic after the match as I decided I didn't like where it was, so I have to rezero anyway. I think I'll zero at 25 for the next match and see what happens. Hell my zero could be off, even though I'm using a TWS dogleg, stranger things have happened.

What temp. was it when you zeroed ?? Remember that can effect the trajectory.. I've seen a few people chase zero when seasons change wondering why the 50yd. zero they set at 32 degrees in winter is now off when it's 90 degrees and the middle of summer.

I always zero at my local indoor range. Gives me perfect world conditions. I also zero at 25 then check again at 50 and 100. Usually requires a tad bit of tweaking, but gets it pretty close.
