I have the mentioned ak pistol and unfortunately it has the pressed and welded fake muzzle brake. I was told on my local forum that I would need a > 12 ton press to remove the barrel from the receiver and put back in. The barrel is .550" thick and from what I've gathered, the most logical threading would be a M14x1 LH. I live near Indianapolis and wondering if there's anybody that could perform these services as I do not have the tools necessary to do so. Thanks for any help!

I'd be willing to ship of I have to but would prefer to drive.

The threads on the 106 "krink" are supposed to be on the FSB, not the barrel. You'll still need a press to restore it to original krink awesomeness (press off fake booster, cut barrel, re crown, unpin and press fsb off, press new fsb on, re pin)

Know any reputable companies in the business of doing this? Is 14x1 LH the proper threading for my .550" barrel?

Do you want just the end of the barrel threaded? Or the proper chop/crown, replace fsb?

The 14x1 threading would be correct for a 7.62 akm, but not for a .223 krink.  Correct threading would be replacing the fsb with the proper 24mm threading.

Option 1 cheaper but not correct to original gun.  Option 2 a little more expensive, but will be correct to the platform.
