Pic isn't showing up, but if you quote his post you can see the URL for it.

It looks like one of those AK74 underfolder prototypes.

It might be the same idea as this.

From the Kalashnikov Museum.

This modification was produced on special order - the best USSR frontier
guard soldiers were awarded with individual AKMs of green color and
individually labeled. Mikhail Kalashnikov would often visit frontier
posts and personally hand this special AK as an award to the best guard.
The soldier wouldn't take it home though then his draft was over - the
gun would be kept at the frontier post's own museum. The label on this
modification of AKM reads: "To the Winner of Socialist Labor Contest".

Very cool for sure the gas block is similar to the one on your new akm build and the trigger guard is interesting also.

For comparison, here is an early AK74 deact.  You'll see it has the same gas block and trigger guard.

Speaking of my AKM build.  A member from another forum gave me the following info on it:

The cast gas block is from the late production model after 1974.

Thats one of the AK's from  the museum at the Izhevsk Machine Works Kalashnikov factory in Izhevsk.
Rare guard models, one off prototype models, etc are there for viewing.

Here is a thread from a member who visited it firsthand.

Don't AK74's need to have the 90 degree gas block?  GARY

The very early Russian 74s used a 45 degree block.

Did he mention what year they switched to the 90 degree block? Nictra said he has a 74 kit with one and I'm wondering if that's the only year they used them...i would imagine they are pretty uncommon.

They must've had that early style gas block for a while - perhaps just a few years after initially doing them.  There's quite a few early Afghan War photos with Russian soldiers with them.
