Anyone done this?  Have any info..  Such as what kind of pins are used?  I want to refinish the front end, as all the paint melted off when I cleaned it.  The rubber is in great shape, so I wanna leave that alone.

Thanks for any help.

Two roll pins hold the butt pad on.  I had it off when I put heat shrink on the tubes.  Tap them out with the appropriately sized punch.  That's as far as I went with mine.

Took mine almost completely apart last night.  The only thing I didn't take off is the top tube of the stock itself (I took out both roll pins, but it still wouldn't come loose).  All it took was a 1/8 punch, a 5/32 punch and a hammer.  I just got mine Friday and it looks pretty beat so I decided to refinish it with Alumahyde II.  My rubber looks OK, but it could be better.  I've heard of people using some type of rubber repair, so I am going to look for some of that.  I'm leaving the swivel in place since its riveted as well as the release button since there is no reason to remove it for refinishing.

Not sure why the top tube on mine won't come out, but its fine for my purposes.  Everything except the rubber buttpad will be refinished in matte black this weekend.  Send me your email address in case you want pics or more information

It was a pain in the ass to get the tension spring put back in correctly (my fingers still hurt), but I finished it up last night.  If I had it to do over again I wouldn't have taken it apart and used my aluminum oxide blaster to strip it and just paint it assembled:

I have a few spots to touch up from getting dinged during reassembly (and because I am to impatient to wait for the alumahyde to cure completely) but I am happy with it overall.  Still thinking about grinding off the sling mount and putting my Echo93 sling mount back on it though...
