hey guys, i've collected all the necessary tools to cut this barrel down but i have a question first.  i understand if the barrel is shorter than 16", the muzzle device has to be permanently attached to make the OAL of the barrel over 16".  my question is this, if the flash suppressor is pronged(see pic), can i still use the entire OAL of the flash suppressor to meet the 16" requirement?  i ask because i haven't seen a setup like this.

this flash hider is ~2.75" OAL, so if i cut the barrel at 14.5", i will easily meet the 16".  i'm not interested in waiting for a SBR stamp or paying the tax, but i want to be sure i cut this barrel at the right length before i dive in.  thanks for any help or advice, i just need a little reassurance that my rifle will be legal before i pass the point of no return.

should be gtg. However, I will say this, without removing the barrel from the receiver and trunnion, it will still be considered an SBR until it is permanently attached. Legal stuff out of the way, I look forward to seeing it finished.
