It was imported in 1992 and sold with a thumb hole stock. 1989 is the year of the ban for imported rifles when thumb hole stocks showed up. So yes, if you install the pistol grip and stock you are then required to comply with 922R as the seller is sending you a rifle without the evil parts installed. Not knowing CT law in regards to an AWB I will say I have seen buyers post here before from North East states who had their rifles delivered to FFLs who would not complete a transfer if a rifle was configured that did not meet 922R.
If a thumb hole stock was installed 922R would not apply and wouldn't be an issue. But if the rifle was shipped with that stock in the box then a thumb hole stock would be a good idea. I would pay extra to have him ship the pistol grip and butt stock USPS flat rate box direct to you. I used to own a BWK-92. |

Based on the date of manufacture this rifle, and just about any Chinese import, are exempt from the feature ban (but not the -type ban)...though even fixed stock and pistol grip with a naked muzzle and sans bayonet lug would be good to go on a post-ban as well. Since this model is post-89 922r would apply, so that definetely is something that I would need to keep in mind, IF I decide to bid on this rifle, since it will be added cost (at any level) just to get it shooting or to configure it in a paramilitary configuration, and stay legal. I'll have to see what the price does. |
