Bump firing, eh?

Do you happen to know cokeman?

TMHonfire?

Be careful with that bump firing mess bro.  You dont want to lose control of the rifle and shoot yourself in the face or foot.

You need more ammo/practice.

Not necessarily.

I have been bump firing for a decade and I've taught a lot of people how to do it.

Some guns, even AKs will have light strikes, out of battery strikes, and mis-feeds only when bump firing.

For me, if a gun will cycle when fired from the shoulder, but will not bumpfire, that is a WARNING sign, and I stop playing with that one.

I had a 10.5" upper on My SBR (ar15) that would run great until I tried to bump it.  I sold the upper.  The replacement 10.5" bumps just fine.

I'll clarify:  If it is striking the round, but, not firing, quit playing with that one.

Some guns like to bump, others do not.  Others do very bad things that can get you hurt.

NP.

Bump firing seems to make people think of posers.  Hell, I've seen posers.  I've also seen people that I have taught to bumpfire that can do it, while aiming, from the shoulder.  It's a 'trick' shot/technique, but, it does have the potential for damaging the gun, you and others.  Eyes and ears need to be protected when you do it.

Also, watch for those early warning signs of the hammer following a round home.  Not being held against a shoulder is sometimes juuuuust enough weakness in a system to cause an out of battery strike on a firing pin.  Each semiautomatic is different.  I've bumped everything from ARs to Garands, to Shotguns (they hurt).

I own an M16 as well.

I still like to teach people how to bumpfire their semi's.

Bump firing means the action isn't regulated by the auto sear and hammer retarder. Sometimes it causes the action to go too fast, causing a FTF and a failure to reset the action.

It could also be getting a light primer strike causing the malfunction.

Being someone who has fired alot of full autos, bump firing is still fun. Who gives a fuck if it makes you look like a poser to some elitist d-bag as long as you are doing it safely.

its shooting to fast. The hammer doesnt set all the way back causing a light strike on the round. Some of my ak's do this some dont.

Idiots? No need to get all butt hurt. You post about bump firing and you can expect a few wise cracks. You would have to be an idiot not to...  My opinion is it is your rifle telling you to stop being foolish.

I was talking stocks. Never seen a person be accurate with one. I still say they are a novelty. I'd fear a guy with one accurate shot more anyday.
