I recently popped off the muzzle nut and im interested in threading the barrel , however I remember reading something a while back about the muzzle not being thick enough to thread.
Can anyone verify? If its doable, what thread size should i go for?

I had an Intrac MKII, and if I recall correctly... the proper way to add a muzzle device to that rifle is to relace the entire FSB with a threaded Romanian FSB unit. I'm not sure if the barrel itself can be threaded on the rifle, but I don't see why not. Then again, anything worth doing is worth doing right IMHO. You'd be adding to the appearance as well as the value of that rifle to track down/invest in the proper parts to do it right.

Im not a huge fan of the 74 style brake so i would prefer to thread it if possible.

It's not correct to just thread the muzzle on a MkII Romanian. You need a 22mm front sight block and a 22mm comp from AK USA.
