| Is there ANY documentation, website reviews, etc... that state the new Yugo M70PAP high capacity rifles have single stack bolts? A WELL KNOWN vendor is telling me they have never heard of this and calling me out for it. Ive seen tons of threads but looking for a like Blog or something...official? |

How can you tell the difference? Stupid question, I know, but I'm new to the AK platform. I own one and will be glad to check it out, but have no idea what I'm looking for... The original bolt is on the left and the newer single stack one is on the right http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g287/MarcusIIsks/IMG_0014.jpg http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g287/MarcusIIsks/ggg.jpg Notice how it barely even picks up rounds. Excellent contribution. Does anyone know if the PAP pistols are like this? Looks to be a less than desirable feature. |

Single/double stack bolt faces would be a width issue, not a height a issue. I understood the Yugo bolt was taller (lower front) to function with the bolt hold open on the mag follower. Should be irrelevant as to left/right/center feed. The "single stack" bolt pictured above looks like a normal AK bolt. It is the Yugo tall (low) One that is different from the AK standard. If there is an issue with engagement, it is due to the selector stop plate being incorrectly adjusted and leaving the cartridge too low relative to the rails.

has anybody actually had feeding probs because of it? Mine has had feeding problems, but I can't say that it was the bolt. I received two surplus steel mags when I purchased mine and it seemed much worse with one of the mags. About every third cartridge would get hung up at some odd angle and get pinched by the bolt as it came forward. I have about 25 damaged cartridges from the deal, all with some kind of whack mark on the side, but it seemed to me more of a feed ramp issue. I'm new to the AK platform though, so I'm still learning. A good cleaning, oiling and a mag swap seemed to make it run smoother, but I've only had it back to the range once since then. Also, I just looked and mine does have the shallower bolt as shown on the right in the picture above. |

My Yugo mags were gummed up pretty good with the stuff when I got them. |

I'd suggest you tell them to pull a PAP and a standard AK from their inventory and compare the bolts for themselves, but I can't think of any well-known vendors who would know how to field-strip an AK. |

My Yugo mags were gummed up pretty good with the stuff when I got them. Pretty sure that they were both good and clean. I took the suspect mag back to the fun shop where I purchased it and they were kind enough to swap it for another one, but I just haven't had time to make it back to the range yet. I'm prepared this time though, thanks to the deals Wideners and AIM had on surplus mags... |
