I've seen some stock sets for sale that don't include the "buttstock insert". Both the AKM and the AK-74 East German pebbled buttstocks are useless without this part. Its a separate piece that slips into the open end of the stock to stiffen it and also to hold the sling swivel and buttplate screws. Once those screws are inserted, its in there solidly. No glue, etc. is used. Some of the NOS East German stock sets are packaged as complete asssemblies, but some aren't.     |
