Hi guys, I'm looking at a Romy WASR with an unthreaded barrel to buy. Not really sure why the muzzle has no threads, but can this barrel be threaded, or is it turned down too far? Thank you.

Not sure how I could know without a measurement, or at least a picture or something.

It's probably a ban era WASR. It should be able to be threaded 14x1LH but measuring the OD of the barrel would be a good idea before attempting it.

You'd have to measure the barrel. I believe if the OD is .55" then you can thread the barrel 14mm. However if the barrel is turned down like so many are, it can be threaded 1/2x28, & there are all type of accessories that are made for that thread size.  GARY  N4KVE

Fair enough. I'll check the measurment to make sure it's at .55 inch. If  a 1/2x28 is needed, do you still need to use the left-hand thread?

I believe it would be a RH thread.
