What 922r parts do you have installed to bring it down to 10?

I'll be picking up my first Saiga tomorrow (7.62x39 16") and then doing a large order for conversion parts.

I am using just 10 round factory mags so 922r does not apply.

I might be wrong but I thought it applied as soon as you took it out of sporter configuration by adding the pistol grip?

Correct. 922r does apply.

its not the pistol grip thats the problem.  its the folding stock.  especially with the combination of the pistol grip and folding stock 922r does in fact apply even though the op is running low cap mags.  op you need to add some 922 compliance parts.  might as well get some hi-cap mags while your at it

Now now it's not fully finished. Get the barrel parts and finish it off.

You swapped out the gas piston?

I swap gas pistons so I can use furniture.

Looks good. Congratulations on a fine rifle.

I hate it when people want to question your compliance parts in public. This could be done thorugh a private message.

I can see the US markings on the trigger and I have lousy vision.

922r Nazis belong on another board I can think of. OP, if you want some pointers on how to add a real trigger guard to that conversion or how to "finish" it off, hit me up. I like it so far!

I asked what parts brought him down to 10 or less for 922r because  I am picking up my Saiga today I just wanted to know what he was using. Don't want something about your gun questioned? Don't post pictures of it.

Quoted:
FCG is 3 , pistol grip is 1 and gas piston is 5. Sooo.......I am covered. I may do the bullet guide later. Ran out of time this weekend. Thanks

The pistol grip does not count towards compliance as the Saiga did not come imported with one. But since you are using a G2 FCG and you stated that you have swapped out the gas piston that would make it 10 and GTG.

This and yes the pistol grip does count....

The way I understand it a US pistol grip does not count against the 14 foreign made parts that come with an imported Saiga the same way it would ,for example, a WASR 10/63 due to the sporter configuration. Is this not how it works for Saigas?

Edit: I am using Gunwiki as a reference guide on this.

There's nothing wrong with it.

It was just a little fishy that in the original post he said nothing of the gas piston cost, and then suddenly when people were talking about the 922r he pulled that one out of the thin air.

My intention was not to be a 922r Nazi. I personally don't care too much about it, and if you browse the photo gallery there are plenty of members that don't either. It just didn't sound like the OP had his bases covered before he posted, and now there are holes in his story.

where you are getting confused is a saiga and wasr rifles are sporter configurations regardless of whether or not they have a pistol grip.  saigas come with low cap mags and a sporter stock.  wasrs get away with the pistol grip due to single stack mag well meaning only low cap mags can be used along with a welded on muzzle nut.  double stack wasrs are made 922 compliant by century from their factory.  once you convert a saiga out of sporter form you "must" then become 922r compliant.  and yes a u.s. made pistol grip does count as a compliance part.  i also am by no means a 922 nazi but its easy enough to comply with especially when you post pics on the interwebs for the world and the possible atf stalkers on here.  though i consider the atf to be a bunch of thugs at the moment anyways.
