The pin thru the reciever is loose. I first noticed it was double and tripple tapping and very touchy. I then noticed the pin worked out of one side and the trigger was loose. I used a 30rd metal mag to tap it back in and it was loose again after the first mag. I have shelved it until I resolve this. the reciever hole (that the pin goes thru) does not look damaged.
Is there a mail order upgrade or should I drop it off at a gunsmith

Sounds like your Shephard's Crook (or hook) or the retaining plate is not installed correctly. Take off top cover and report back what you see on the left side around the pins inside the receiver. There should be what looks like a bent paper clip or a retaining plate.

Use this as a guide to reinstall the hook or as a reference. Not hard to fix.

the spring went under the hammer pin and over the trigger pin then was held by the eye hole the safety goes thru. it was too short and wasn't touching the trigger pin. I tried to do it the other way and it had a piece of metal sticking straight up after the hammer pin so it would not fit over the pin. I cut some of the wire off so it would fit and it would not secure to the safety. I went to carolinas shooters supply and bought a Sheperds Crook Retaining Spring and a t-6 shock cushioned butt pad (I had to add something to the order because it was $8.95 shipping on a $4 part)
now, I wait for my parts
thx guys

I ran 80 rds of wally world tullammo thru it and no FTFs or double tapps. my FTFs were probably caused by gun show ammo

Yes- lift the selector up, pull it out a bit, put it through the hole in the crook, back on and you should be good to go.
