I can't wait to shoot it for the first time tomorrow. I have some ARs so I thought it was time to get something different. It is an Arsenal SLR 107F. I bought it on GB for $899 which seemed to be decent from what I was seeing when I was shopping around. I bought some of the European surplus mags from Aim.

An excellent choice. A 107f was my first AK as well. Be forewarned: they multiply.

BTW - the canadian with the hockey hair was a great MST3K episode.

Congrats, you made a good purchase. The only thing that would trouble me is the absence of "R" (i.e., side rail). I guess you didn't want a side rail, so it is no big deal to you. In either case, great rifle!

I'm glad to see you made a wise choice. It's good to see someone who did the research and bought a quality rifle from the start. My first Kalashnikov was an SGL20 and they do multiply. Stock up on mags and ammo your rifle likes.

Good score on the rifle and the mags. Aim are good people. Cant ever have enough mags and ammo.

It's funny you mention that. I researched to make sure I got a good rifle but I completely overlooked that this one did not have a side rail. I am actually thinking of buying either the MI rails with the optic specific top cover or the mount that replaces the rear site. I am leaning heavily toward the T1.

That is one of my favorite episodes. I have a hard time finding other fans of MST3K.

Sweet rifle.  You can't go wrong with a T-1.  I've got two AK's set up with the MI hand guards & mounts. They work very well.  Just make sure you lock tite all the screws.

MST3K; ah, memories.  I still have that episode recorded somewhere.  Rowsdower!   You didn't screw around when purchasing your first AK.

Great choice for a first AK. I have been into Kalashnikov rifles for about a decade now, and just recently got my first Arsenal (an SLR-107CR). The only bad news is that there isn't too much room for improvement when you start so high on the totem pole to begin with. I am sure you will love your new AK. Let us know how she shoots.

Well if this is your first AK, you made an excellent choice!  Congratulations!

T-1 is an awesome optic, I have the H-1 because I didn't need the night vision settings. You may also want to take a look at the TWS Dogleg and Ultimak, they are pretty popular optic mounting solutions when you don't have a side rail.

I just ordered the T1. I do have one on one of my ARs and I do love it. I was going to buy the H1 since Palmetto State was running thier 20% off sale but they were sold out so I got another T1. I think I am going to go with the Ultimak for the weight savings.
