So my Wasr has a welded barrel nut on it. I want to put a AK74 style comp on it. I have seen plenty of youtube videos on how to remove the nut that isnt a big deal. and it is obviously not there to bring it out to 16" OAL Are they not allowed to import the rifles with flash hiders? Do I have to re weld the new comp on? tried to do a Google search on it didnt find a whole lot of info on it
EDIT: I know if I remove the nut I have to attach a US made part for the compliance which Aim has the one I want |
| Most likely the nut was welded onto a barrel with threads, simply as a thread protector. Once the nut is welded, it becomes simply part of the barrel and does not count as an imported or USA-made part. With a 16" barrel, you don't need to weld your new brake and can feel free to use a spring plunger in the front sight base for easy installation/removal if it doesn't already have one. Use of a removable USA-made muzzle attachment will not affect your present 922r compliance scheme. |
