What's the deal on the barrel on the SLR 107s that have the front sight/gas block combo? It looks like some kind of big nut over what I'm assuming is the threaded part of the fs/gb, and the barrel looks like it might be shrouded?

Anyone have one that can describe it or maybe even show some detailed pics?

The SLR107CR and SLR107UR have the Bulgarian AK104 style front sight/ gas block combo. The Russian and Bulgarian AK104 gas blocks have different diameters.

Atlantic firearms includes a removable Krink style barrel shroud with their SLR-107CR.

If I was going to buy a 107CR it would be from Atlantic for this reason.

Nope the CR does but the UR uses a Krinkov FS/GB combo. Two different animals.
