I have a milled mak 90 that I am wanting to deban and convert to an underfolder legend clone but I just noticed that the import mark is faintly stamped at the back of the receiver where the cut out for the underfolding stock would go and this would remove/cover about half of the stamp..

The ATF says you cannot remove identifying marks so is this considered an identifying mark? MAK 90 SPORTER is stamped in the middle of the receiver and will not be affected BTW

I can't imagine that an import mark is considered an identifying mark.

I'm not sure, MAK90 Sporter is the model. I'm sure other people will chime in who know more than I do.

I would have already done it and kept my mouth shut.

Well if it was my only deban option I would have but if it's not "legal" I would be happy doing a type 2 clone but a spiker/legend underfolder is my first choice.

I'm not an expert but I would think that "identifying" marks means model and serial number...not so much a import mark.
