A pay it forward thread:
About 2 weeks ago I went on the WTB/WTT forum on AR15dotcom and TheAKForumdotcom asking for some black, hand guards for a Saiga I had just converted. I got a few responses, and a couple of pretty good deals thrown my way. Well about the time I was about to pull the trigger on one of these deals I received a PM from a guy that goes by the tag Zestar on AR15dotcom. He said that he had just taken off some hand guards from his Arsenal and was looking to clear out some old stuff he wasn’t using. He said that he would give them to me free of charge. I was taken aback by this offer, because it is unusual for someone to just give stuff away. Well I pm’d him back and told him I would pay for shipping, he refused and said it was all on his dime, and that he would get these out to me in a couple of days. Well this was last Thursday. I received them on Monday…..how great is that! The hand guards look to be brand new, and as an added bonus he threw in an extra upper hand guard, and a pamphlet for the Appleseed events. I didn’t know much about Appleseed and what it represented until this and it got me curious. I got on the net and did some digging. I always thought this was for children so I never much paid attention to it. After some reading, I am planning on attending one when one comes close to where I live. There will be one here in May! I am writing this post for 3 reasons: 1.First and foremost, to publicly thank Zestar for his generous gift! 2.To thank AR15dotcom and TheAKForumdotcom for giving us such a place to gather and exchange ideas, information and goods. 3.To pay it forward: Now as my pay it forward, I would like to give a professionally (meaning I didn’t butcher this in my garage, it was done by Cobra76two from the Saiga12forums) vented Saiga hand guard to someone who needs it. This hand guard comes with the receiver screw and sling attachment. I will pay shipping to your door, as was done for me. Please do not ask for it if you do not need it, and if you are going to flip it and sell it on the EE please do not respond. I would also like it if you would donate something else to someone in need, something that you aren’t going to use anymore. I don’t know how to do this democratically, but I guess the first I’ll take it and PM afterwards gets it. Thanks, Richard I will have pictures up later this afternoon of the hand guards received and the Saiga hand guard I am giving away. |

Probably list it in the existing pay-it-forward thread in this very forum: http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_4_64/139150_____Now_the_official_AK_47_discussion_PAY_IT_FORWARD_thread_____.html |
