Can anyone tell me a good source for an AK parts kit––I'd like to send one (along with 922r parts) to Overland Industries. I've been eyeballing the following kit from Atlantic Firearms, but yikes––$289 seems kind of steep.

Its more than a Romy G or something, but its hard to get real Russian stuff here. I looked at that same one for my next build and ended up going with a RPK kit cuz I already have an AKM. I'd say its worth the money. Find a Romy chrome lined virgin barrel for it. Tip: when you find a kit you want, buy it (if you have the money). Don't count on it being there in a few weeks or months. You'll have to pick out a different one then. |
| Well unfortunately you're a bit late to the kit scene. The golden age of $69 complete kits are gone and probably won't be back. The only way that parts kit you listed would be worth it (to me anyway) would be if you built it yourself. Otherwise I think you'd be better off just buying an already built rifle. |

I couldn't resist the Tula Parts Kit being offered by Atlantic Firearms––ordered one this morning.
I personally think we are in a second "golden-age" of parts kits––especially when it comes to certain kits (such as this Russian Tula Aresenal Kit being offered by Atantic Firearms)––we just don't realize it yet! Wait until these dry up––then we'll be saying, "if only I had purchased a few when they were only $289!". Now the fun begins....... |
