Were wood pistol grips ever actually used on the AK-74?  I notice that about all the stock sets out there for the AK-74 have wood pistol grips with them.

All of the ones I have seen have a brown plastic pistol grip. Even the black plastic stock Bulgy 74 kit I have came with a brown plastic pistol grip. I have not seen any with wood pistol grips.

Russian AK74's have bakelite grips and AKS74's have shiny plum grips, circa late 70's-mid 80's prior to plum furniture.
