I saw a guy who had just bought a WASR-10/63 at a gun show for $750.

I didn't have the heart to say anything

It's unfortunate that a dealer would take advantage of somebody like that.

Buyer bears equal responsibility for being ignorant to current prices IMO.  The way I see it, anybody who doesn't research their potential purchases prior to buying deserves whatever they get.

I paid $25 more than that for an Arsenal SLR-107FR.

Thats how shows are around here. Higher than marketvalue for 80% of the stuff there. Ive been to a couple and havnt seen any great deals.

I agree with you and liquidmetal to a point. The guy should have researched before he bought but to charge $250+ over the regular price is fucking ridiculous IMHO. This is probably the guys first firearms purchase given that amount of gullibility but that's a really nice welcome into the firearms community. Hope he doesn't judge the rest of us in the same light as that dealer when he finds out how bad he got raped.

At that price I'm going to have to stop saying arsenals are overpriced, in a couple of weeks they'll be cheaper than WASRs.

Exactly what I was thinking. The show was pretty badly overpriced across the board, but I think that this was the worst case of it. On a better note, I got a mint condition M38 Mosin Nagant with a sling and 20 rounds of Russian surplus for $250 out the door. Not great, but not horrible considering how difficult they are to find now. I've wanted to replace the one I stupidly sold for about two years now.

I would have definately interrupted that transaction if I caught it in progress.
