I know this has been beat to death but i can't find much other than wrapping the underfolder stock with paracord. This is still a possibility but I was looking to see if there were any alternatives.
My underfolder won't be here till Wed. and I have to see how I like the stock cheek weld first, obviously, before I plan alterations. But I wouldn't mind getting ideas now in anticipation of a possible DIY job. One thing I have been considering is bicycle handlebar wrap. Although, I think the ends may need secured with electrical tape and I'm always a fan of the most permanent options which still have the ability to be removed easily.....who knows how long the electrical tape would last......plus it's tape....on a gun
My only fear is anything I put on, may have the chance to cause corrosion. Anyway, paracord and..........what, is possible to use to enhance the cheek weld of my Polish underfolder stock (if I deem it necessary upon its arrival) as well as reduce wobble when in the folded position. Hopefully I will find it works just fine as is but who can tell for sure. Sorry for another broken record thread.

Tagged. I have a polish underfolder getting here next week as well. If someone can talk about a way to wrap wo corrosion being an issue, I'm interested. Otherwise I plan on sucking it up and getting used to cold metal. I just wanted to thank everyone for the great posts ......the AK side of the house really lacks in comparison; pretty dissapointing for how passionate these AK owners claim to be.
Anyway, 74novaman, i found this little gem made by Samson. It doesn't look aesthetically pleasing but certainly looks functional. I haven't decided if it is something for me or not but it seems like a great device. I wish we had more options like this. Other problem is it's a $75 cheek rest. Samson tends to be a little too pricey IMO. |

I decided to stick with my irons after beating my head on what sight to get for my UF. I am going with the MI SS rail so I can run the AFG and a light. So I will just keep the paracord wrap to keep my cheek from being froze to the stock for the winter months. Oh and yeah, $75 is a bit much for that rest. |
| I haven't tried this on an UF but, I wrapped my Romanian push button side folder with 550 cord OVER a slit section of fuel line hose. If you have the clearance you could try slitting a larger diameter hose or using a section cut lengthwise that wouldn't wrap or add thickness in the inside of the strut by the receiver. HTH |

HTH Hell, that's a pretty cool idea. |

Now I just need to find what will work best and where to get it. |
| Id go with popcoen on dental floss.. Like kids do for xmas trees... Then you need a snack munch on the UF... Then you have the floss for the pieces that get stuck... Suprised no one mentioned this... I just ise about 50-100' of 550 para on my ace side folders... |
