Damn this SRD (soviet rifle disease) its even worse than the BRD thats currently in remission. The problem with this one is availability. At least with BRD I could usually get what i want when I wanted it.
That brings me to my question, does anyone know if (or when) Century is planning on dropping off another boatload of PSLs? I saw one overpriced one (over $1K with tax) that looked like it might have some mag problems and 0 at a gun show. They were everywhere about 2 years ago when I didn't want one. Now, unfortunately, I do. Should I just buy a kit? Thanks |

Thanks. Those are what I've been looking at. A build means I'd have to find a builder though, which I'll do but probably cost me more in the long run. At least I know it will work right. |

Guess it pays to click...I'll go back to my microsoft word doc now... |

Those are miss matched parts though. But you can find those for 699 on other websites. I think the days were you could find a matching numbers gun with scope for $600the is over. Your best bet is to eaither buy a fpk or buy a gently used matching number gun. IMO because i had this same problem a few weeks ago. I will get the thread for you |

Thanks. I forgot about that thread. What did you end up doing btw? I've heard some mixed reviews on the TGI ones. I know the centerfire kits are 300 right now. If these things are running at 8 and 900, it might be better to have one built. I wonder if I email century if they tell me if they plan on getting some more in. |

Should be here by the end of the week. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_7_93/941462_Romanian_FPK_Dragunov_SPF.html Good deal i thought but i will see. First time buying from a private party so i am a little skeptical |

First time buying from a private party so i am a little skeptical Its a excellent score with the etching on the side of the reciever, these where acctually constructed in Romania, the other FPK was costructed mostly in Romania, however the barrels I believe where placed on the rifles here, although still Romanian the work was done here, thats the TGI rifles, they normally sale for quite a bit more than the CIAs although the early CIAs where from the same place as the TGI gun most where labeled RomakIII not PSL54, all from the Cugir. I doubt you will be dissapointed most of these rifles you find for sale right now $1000.00 thats with the scope and 1mag, I would say you got a deal man. Congrats. |

If you get a kit and are looking for a builder, Jim Fuller at Rifle Dynamics is your man. Phenominal craftsmanship on everything he sends out. His wait is running around 3 months last time I had him work on my guns, but it's worth it. Thats who I was thinking of and I contacted him about ballpark pricing but haven't heard anything back yet. If you don't mind my asking, around how much was it? Technically Romania was not part of the USSR, but it was occupied by them and was a part of the Warsaw Pact until around 90. Soviet just sounded better... |
