What's the easiest way to remove a scope mount from the left side of the receiver?

I dont know why you would want to remove it you will sitll have to  fill the hole with a rivet or weld it but a Dremel is the best way...... Your gun is worth more with the scope mount..

Is it just held on by the three rivets?

Yes, but the rear most rivet also holds the rear trunion in place.

Yes, and the rear rivet holds your rear trunnion in place, so you'd need to have that one replaced.

Edited to add:  I type too slow on an IPad.  :)

Don't do it.

Most likely the area under the mount is not painted so it's going to look fugly.
