| Just a heads up, kvar has some more slr's in and they got 106cr's and 105's now! |
The muzzle brake is not really a deal breaker on the SLR105 as it was mainly put on for full auto use. Some states still have bans in place and these will sell like hotcakes especially in my state, but I already have one .

Yea I saw that, crazy.... Also if you get a 106 then how would you ever find another barrel for it or do they not expect people to care about that? I expect they don't expect people to care about that because there's maybe .1% of the buyers capable of burning out the orginal chrome lined one. As to the 105, I think the reason Arsenal didn't bring them back sooner was there is no more new `74 parts for Arsenal Bulgaria to build them with. As far as I know Arsenal Bulgaria has moved away from 5.45 (see all the surplus that came and dried up) and stamped AKs (whens the last time they had SLRs period). I think these 105s were something "put away" either here in the US (ala the recent Roberson Veprs) or in Bulgaria or they were recently released from customs or where on the extra, very slow boat from Bulgaria. I don't expect them to resume "production" or importation on them. Yes, I bought one and will be swaping the FSB to pre-ban and adding wood furniture. |

The muzzle brake with expansion chamber on the 74 models was used to dampen felt recoil. The muzzle brake on the AKM was made to enhance controllability. There is a bit of difference in perceived recoil between the brake being on and not being on. |

Yea I know but these things are gonna be in america for a couple generations before they ever crap out if they ever do. They will probably get passed down and will need barrels eventually. |

I wouldnt sweat it, considering you would probably have to shoot a million dollars worth of 5.56 through one to wear the barrel out. I had a Type I Russian underfolder in A-stan, that had a sewer pipe bore all corroded too hell from ahmed never cleaning it and god knows how many rounds of 7.62 through it over 40 years- and it would ring steel 300 meter man silhouettes from the prone all day long. |
