Just picked up this SAR-3 today for $250.00 from a friend thinning his collection for financial purposes. Came with 2 10rd mags. I've shot this a few times before,shoots great...I cant find much on it though besides basic mfg. info and such. Also a semi-lengthy search has turned up nothing on where I can get mags for this...any one know????

Are they as bad as im reading? I mean i guess its not overly important to get 30's for it, I have plenty of defence guns. I got this this one pretty much for a fun gun because I love the way it shoots...and I couldnt argue with the price....but a few 30rd's would be nice. Man this thing throws brass like I have never seen... about a good 18'up and 25' to the left!!! It all winds up on top of the pullbarn! |

SAR3 is a 5.56 ....SAR2 is 5.45...you will need the weiger 5.56 mags for your rifle. |

Wieger mags are the ones to run in an SAR-3. Don't bother playing with EG ones,been their,done that.
Do check your hammer profile to bolt stem. I've had 2 SAR-3's and both needed to be adjusted. On one I reshaped the hammer,on the other I just droped in a Red Star Arms FCG(you can buy just the hammer). Good luck,enjoy your new toy |
