I know this has been asked several times but I am trying to determine which AK in 7.62 to purchase , In the $500.00 to $700.00 range . I have a draco now but I kind of want an underfolder ? I am thinking Yugo for the thicker 1.6 receiver ????

The Yugo would be an excellent choice. I don't think they have chromed barrels, so that might be an issue. I don't have one (yet), but have heard a lot of good things about them. You should also look into the Polish underfolders. They look like they aren't too bad and are reasonably priced. There are also the WASR underfolders. Not pretty but will get the job done.

low end: WASR...cheap, tends to work well, but rough; most yugos i've seen in that price range are about the same (if by CAI and similar importers)

if it were me, i'd spend the money, get a used Arsenal or converted Saiga

Polish PKMS w/ chrome lined barrel, is a good alternative to the Yugo.

The military purpose behind the 1.6mm receiver (as well as the bulged/RPK front trunnion, heavy barrel, and recoil spring assy lock mechanism) was to help the rifle stand up to repeated use as a grenade launcher.  The average civy user will see no real benefit from those qualities but they are still nice qualities to have.  I have two Yugo underfolders, a stamped M70AB2 and a milled M64, and like them a lot.  Yugos are the tanks (built like a brick shithouse) of the AK world, very heavy-duty rifles.

As far a Century Yugo underfolders go, all recent builds have been on 1mm receivers and the 1.6mm versions are getting kinda scarce as they haven't been made in quite a while.

Polish underfolders are amongst the very finest out there.  I have a Polish underfolder that is a very high quality rifle and as far as looks go, it is pure sex.

Atlantic Firearms has Red Jacket Polish underfolders that a very fine rifles, last I heard they were supposed to be back in stock sometime this month.  See them here.

I would suggest a 922r conversion on a thumbhole stamped MAK90. Add Ironwood Designs furniture and a Red Star Arms FCG and you will have a very nice AK, and it can be done within your budget.
