Supposedly about ,2000-2,500 were produced before the Berlin Wall came down:
More info here... They've sold for quite a bit more than that. 2009 prices seem to have been between $1000 and $1250 from what I've found on the web. Have to be a hard core collector at those prices. |

The only way I'd pay that for that bayo would be if I happened to have the matching AK kit and I'd had a really good builder (gunplumber, Mario@POHF, or Ted Marshall) build me a rifle with it that had correct markings, etc. Then, with that much invested, it might be worth it. Other than that, it's cool but not $700 cool. ETA: Oh, and if I lived in a state where I was allowed to have a bayo lug on a post ban rifle. |

I actually just found the bayo that came with my Bulgy '74 kit that I had built up by gunplumber... unfortunately the bayo ears are shaved off so it doesn't do me any good. |
