What do you use on your AK ? Likes, dislikes ? I am in a toss up between the 2 magpuls ? (AFG or RVG)

My personal recomendation: The angled foregrip.
I dont have a railed gun ;) But I do use the romanian "Dong" foregrip. I don't use the grip like a forward pistol grip, it's a brace, a way to pull back firmly, just like some do on the magwell. Just my opinion, but an angled forgrip allows better forearm control than a verticle. A verticle grip and 99% of people grip it like a baseball bat. |
| Mine (WASR) has the side rail for scope mount so sometimes shoot with scope, very accurate to my thought. Mojo aperature iron rear sight, like the military iron sight picture. And all wood furniture painted black. If its considered a so called black rifle the stock & forearms deserve paint...just joking, the wood was ugly as a mud fence before painting... |

I'm personally using a LaRue FUG one rifle and a RVG on another. I just placed an order for a AVG and I'll try it on my Drakov build. Like the post under yours I use the VFG to pull the rifle tight into my shoulder, not to grip it like I'm beating a guy off. |

I always used a VFG on my M4 in the Army. I always positioned it as far forward as I could on the rail because it seemed more effective at keeping muzzle rise down to zero being farther out.
But on an AK the VFG aren't able to mount far forward enough to be comfortable to me.. so I doubt I'll ever use one on an AK. I also don't see any benefit to the AFG on an AK other than comfort. You can't really use it like it was designed on an AK (basically how magpul teaches in their DVDs) because your thumb will block the sights. |
