How is Century on their returns? I might return a 74 to Century for keyholing. The young lady I spoke with said the process usually takes around 2 weeks. Do they usually get things right the second time around and do they live up to their 2 week turn around time?
My turnaround time from my shipping until my receiving the rifle back was about 1-1/2 weeks (I'm in Colorado). The original rifle had some feeding issues. The replacement (a new rifle) has been absolutely perfect. No problems what-so-ever. I've put several thousand rounds through the replacement. No hassle at all from Century. They gladly said "send it back and we'll take care of you". They did.

It's been a very long time since I had to deal with a Century return, but it went smoothly.
Back around 1994/5 or so, I bought a Century L1A1 Sporter (thumbhole stock, bare muzzle) that was having issues. I called them, sent it back, and had a new replacement within 2 weeks. |
I had a PSL with a canted sight and a canted scope. I purchased it new from AIM and never shot it. I called and they said they would fix it if I shipped it, but it is not cheap to ship a massive gun like a PSL. So, after a little complaining I got them to pay for return shipping and after about three weeks it showed up all fixed. They did pretty well.
Make sure you call and get a "Return Authorization Number". Also make sure you print this number in big letters on the outside of the box. Write a concise description of what is wrong with the gun and what will make you happy and attach it to the gun (tape, zip-tie, whatever). I have returned three rifles like this to them and have always received a quick and satisfactory resolution.
